The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has officially renamed ‘Bangabandhu Avenue’ to ‘Shaheed Abrar Fahad Avenue’, honoring the late BUET student Abrar Fahad, who was brutally murdered in 2019.
The decision, announced in a DSCC press release on March 25, follows recommendations from the Naming Subcommittee and approval from the Local Government Division. Alongside this change, several roads, infrastructures, bridges, flyovers, parks, and mosques in Dhaka have been given new names.
